On Aug. 17, the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) announced an update to IEC 60598-1. This ninth edition cancels and replaces the eighth edition published in 2014 and Amendment 1:2017.
This new version covers digital aspects like Power over Ethernet (PoE) and introduces Ingress Protection IPX9 and Protect Extra Low Voltage (PELV), among other changes
CB Test Reports should relate to the standard and your existing files will need an update. As usual, we expect that these changes will be adopted in the EN 60598-1 within 2021..
